Brainwave Entrainment Frequencies
Probably the sound frequencies most available as mp3 downloads are brainwave entrainment frequencies. Brainwaves – that is the electrical activity in our brains — can be influenced by a rhythmic external stimulus. That stimulus can be visual, audio or even – reportedly – tactile. After being exposed to this external rhythm for a time, the brain’s electrical activity will take on the same rhythm. The brain’s following of an external rhythm is called the “frequency following response”.
The frequency following response gives us a way to program our own states of mind. A device called an electroencephalograph (EEG) which measures the electrical activity of the brain has been used to define our usual states of mind. It measures electrical pulses per second called hertz (hz). For example, deep sleep producing a Delta brain wave occurs between 0 – 4 hz. Lighter sleep with dreaming and also meditation occurs between 4-8 hz and here the EEG shows us Theta brain waves. The frequency from 8-12 hz is called the Alpha brain wave and is mentally aware but relaxed. Finally the Beta brainwave state is where you are concentrating and focused in the range of 12-40 hz.
All of the brainwave states have specific mental, emotional and biochemical characteristics. That is why inducing a specific brainwave state can enhance functioning in these areas. A simple example is playing Delta brainwave frequencies in order to sleep deeply and awaken refreshed. The biochemistry induced by this state heals and replenishes the body as well as making you sleepy.
Sound entrainment frequencies use different types of tones to deliver the rate or rhythm of pulses that compose the frequency. Isochronic tones are a single tone. Binaural beats use headphones to present one ear with one tone and the other ear with a slightly different tone. With these two inputs, the brain creates a third tone, in between the other two. Monaural beats combine the tones before they reach the ear.
This is why you need to use headphones with binaural beats. The use of headphones pretty much rules out the use of binaural beats with animals.
Often entrainment frequencies are masked by sounds meant to make the frequencies easier to listen to. These can be nature sounds, white noise, and music among other possibilities.
Entrainment frequencies can be purchased as a sequence lasting mere seconds or a sequence 45 minutes or more. You listen to them as long as you want by setting your device to repeat them.
Rife Frequencies can be used to normalize/balance body functions. But they are probably best known for exploding/disabling pathogens. Royal Raymond Rife was a scientist who designed and built medical equipment. He created a microscope with greater magnification powers than any before. As he noted the behavior of pathogens under this microscope he began to observe that each one had a frequency which could destroy or disable it.
To disable pathogens within the body, he used a radio transmitter with a plasma tube, called a “beam ray” which changed the radio waves into other electromagnetic energy that disabled the microorganisms.
Rife came to believe that most disease was due to viruses including cancer. Today it has been shown that indeed some cancers are caused by viruses. Rife’s work was discredited by the medical profession, members of which were unable to replicate his work. He died in 1971 and much of his work disappeared.
Some of Rife’s work was recovered and became the foundation for the work of others, notably James Bare, a chiropractor and Hulda Clark, a biophysics researcher. In 2007 and 2008, Kong-Thon Tsen, a physicist at Arizona State University demonstrated that viruses, including the HIV virus, could be killed by vibration and resonance using lasers.
Controversy remains around the effectiveness of the electronic devices — “Rife machines” and Hulda Clark’s “Zapper” –despite various models, parts and experimenters. Nevertheless, the frequencies explored by these researchers continue to be explored and refined by others. Currently there are both machines and software which produce Rife frequencies. Many of those frequencies are listed on the Consolidated Annotated Frequency List (CAFL) maintained by Electroherbalism. These can be programmed on signal or tone generators. Ken Uzzell has created software which combines a database of disorders with the sound frequencies that have been found helpful for those disorders.

Although entrainment and Rife frequencies are probably the best known frequencies for healing, there are a number of other more specialized frequencies that also heal.
These include the Nogier frequencies developed by Dr Paul Nogier and used medically for both diagnosis and treatment. There are also homeopathic frequencies “captured” from homeopathic remedies via a “capture chamber”. The Solfeggio frequencies are said by some to be from a lost musical scale, now recovered, that assist people in self development. Others dispute this.
Some frequencies are copies of frequencies found in the natural world such as in medicinal herbs or in crystals. The frequencies are used as a remedy in the same way that some alternative practitioners would use the herbs or crystals. The Schumann Resonance is said to be the frequency of the space between the surface of the earth and the ionosphere. Tuning forks and “singing bowls” (considered a type of bell) also produce healing frequencies.
Some developers of frequencies will combine different types of frequencies in one recording. An example is homeopathic frequencies paired with entrainment frequencies. The entrainment frequencies are meant to relax the listener and make them more receptive to the homeopathic frequencies.
It has been pointed out that while alternative practitioners work with audible frequencies the medical community tends to work with frequencies outside that audible range. Ultrasound, which is used for medical imaging and diagnosis is above the hearing range of most humans.
Infrasound which is below the hearing range of most humans is being researched as a sort of “cellular massage” which has shown promise in treating Parkinson’s disease and fibromyalgia. Infrasound is also used in the medical practice of lithotripsy which focuses pulsed infrasonic sound at kidney stones and stones in other organs. This procedure is meant to break up the stones into smaller particles which can be excreted more easily.
Incidentally, infrasound can be produced by natural disasters such as earthquakes, avalanches and tsunamis. Also some animals, such as elephants, whales and rhinos, communicate over long distances via infrasound. It is speculated that people may perceive it unconsciously with feelings of anxiety, awe or fear and these feelings may be interpreted as “supernatural”.
Advantages of Using Frequencies
For minor ailments where over-the-counter remedies are often used, frequencies are remedies that only need to be purchased once and then are used as often as needed. An example is melatonin which is a sleeping aid. It may be purchased as tablets or a frequency that stimulates your body to create melatonin may be used. In many cases, frequencies are considered safer than remedies purchased at the drug store.
Frequencies also provide possible options when the doctor or veterinarian has no further possibilities to suggest.
